ABOUT THIS SPEAKER: From 2009 to 2017, Sarah Hurwitz served as a White House speechwriter, first for President Barack Obama and then as the chief speechwriter for First Lady Michelle Obama. Hurwitz worked with Mrs. Obama to craft a number of widely-acclaimed addresses, including her 2012 and 2016 Democratic National Convention speeches and her political speeches during the 2016 campaign cycle.
Hurwitz is a graduate of Harvard College and Harvard Law School, and is currently a fellow at the Institute of Politics at the Harvard Kennedy School of Government. A nationally-recognized speaker on trans and Jewish identity, she serves on the Board of Keshet, an organization devoted to full inclusion of LGTBQ Jews in Jewish communal affairs.
