ABOUT THIS EVENT: For nearly three decades, the Two-State Solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict faltered at the negotiating table. Yet without a political resolution, Israel will know no peace, and Palestinians will remain an oppressed nation forever. This talk will present a path forward: a new vision for a confederation of two states, to replace the failures of the past. This approach provides national self-determination for both peoples in two states, while forging an association based on shared aspects of sovereignty, and creative new solutions to the most intractable conflict issues – borders, settlements, refugees and Jerusalem. The confederation approach rests on cooperation rather than segregation – it is not only more realistic, it is optimistic.
