ABOUT THIS LECTURE: We will compare texts and practices of two ancient traditions—Judaism and Tibetan Buddhism—through the most esteemed personification of each path. In Judaism, it is the
Tzaddik (righteous person) upon whom the entire world depends. And in Tibetan
Buddhism, it is the Bodhisattva (one who willingly gives up their own wellbeing for the
sake of others.) Studying these wise, incisive teachings brings to light surprising
similarities, and illuminates the path for all modern spiritual seekers.

ABOUT THIS SPEAKER: Rabbi Tirzah Firestone, PhD, is a Jungian psychologist, author, and the founding rabbi of Congregation Nevei Kodesh in Boulder, Colorado, a Jewish Renewal community dedicated to a passionate renewal of Judaism in the 21st century. Ordained by Rabbi Zalman Schachter-Shalomi in 1992, Rabbi Firestone became a leader in the Jewish Renewal Movement and lectures and teaches widely on the confluence of Kabbalah and psychology and the reintegration of feminine wisdom tradition within Judaism.
Rabbi Firestone earned her doctorate in depth psychology in 2015 with a focus on the healing of intergenerational Jewish trauma. She is the author of With Roots in Heaven, a spiritual memoir; The Receiving: Reclaiming Women’s Wisdom, about the feminine Kabbalah; and a best selling audio set, Women’s Kabbalah. Her newest book, Wounds Into Wisdom: Healing Intergenerational Jewish Trauma, will be released in the spring of 2019. Rabbi Firestone and her husband David live outside of Boulder, Colorado. Together they have three grown children.
