January 28 @ 1:00 pm - 2:00 pmSuggested Donation: $18
ABOUT THIS EVENT: Many understand that killing a human or animal is wrong. Many also know that physical torture of a human or an animal is wrong. But what about confinement? Are cages for humans or animals always wrong? In this session, we will explore Jewish texts and leading secular philosophers on the topic of confinement and freedom. We’ll observe commonalities between industrial prisons and factory farms to raise some difficult ethical questions.
ABOUT THIS SPEAKER: Rabbi Dr. Shmuly Yanklowitz is the President & Dean of Valley Beit Midrash.
