ABOUT THE EVENT:
“The Jewish Jail Lady and the Holy Thief” is a heartwarming documentary about Rabbi Mark Borovitz and Harriet Rossetto, the founders of Beit T’shuvah, a Jewish Recovery community in Los Angeles. This film tells the remarkable story of Mark and Harriet‘s lives and the birth of their spiritual mission to help Jewish addicts and criminals find recovery, and who saved the lives of thousands over a thirty year period.
ABOUT THE SPEAKERS:
Mark, who is now an ordained Rabbi, is an ex-con, who was ordained at the University of Judaism in LA. Harriet is an accredited social worker who has helped Jewish convicts including Mark, which is how they first met, when he was in prison. They have both written highly-acclaimed books including Rabbi Mark’s Los Angeles Times best seller, “The Holy Thief”. They’re happily married and residing in Palm Desert, CA.
