ABOUT THIS EVENT: In “Illustrating the Passover Haggadah Graphic Novel…Or: Everything I Needed To Know About the Haggadah I Learned From Batman,” veteran comic book creator and editor Jordan B. Gorfinkel (aka GORF) will analyze the narrative and thematic elements of the Haggadah in order to show how the story lends itself perfectly to a comic book adaptation.

ABOUT THE HAGGADAH: The Passover Haggadah Graphic Novel integrates a brand-new, modern translation into sophisticated and fun sequential art that brings the epic Exodus story to life. The result of extensive historical and linguistic research, every gorgeous panel imbues the classic narrative with renewed relevance and excitement.

ABOUT THE SPEAKER: Jordan B. Gorfinkel – Gorf – is a cartoonist, musician, writer, producer and proud husband and father of four children. For nearly a decade Gorf was a manager of the Batman franchise at DC Comics, where his creations serve as inspiration for television, film, games and more. Gorf’s creative studio, Avalanche Comics Entertainment, produces custom content for corporations, non-profits and entertainment companies. As a cartoonist, Gorf draws JewishCartoon.com, the weekly comic strip featured in newspapers and online. His Jewish Cartoon Workshop, for schools and camps, gets participants of all ages and backgrounds drawing comics about the Torah portion of the week and other Jewish themes, which he then collects into a comic book for everyone to enjoy and learn from.
